Lemon Kush Cannabis Strain (Here’s everything you need to know and even more!)

Lemon Kush cannabis is one of those 50/50 indica and sativa hybrids that blend so very nicely to give you an uplifting and creative boost along with a de-stressing chillness! It is the offspring of a pairing between Master Kush and Lemon G, and was originally developed by DNA Genetics; however, one particular marijuana plant breeder, Alien Genetics, developed their own variation of Lemon Kush ganja that was a cross between Afghan Kush and Lemon G. Lemon Kush pot plants can grow to over five feet, or a meter and a half, tall and flower with light green buds covered in white trichomes. When smoked or vaped, Lemon Kush has a citrusy sweet lemon taste (and very strong lemon aftertaste) with earthy kush undertones. Medical marijuana patients can use Lemon Kush to treat stress, depression, pain, nausea, loss of appetite, and anxiety; whereas recreational users are apt to appreciate its sweetly sour lemon flavor and jubilant head high!

Background:

Lemon Kush weed has Afghani hash plant ancestors, as well as South American sativa relations, and this genetic background makes it an even hybrid strain with a 50/50 sativa/indica balance that has a laboratory-tested 26% THC content. High levels of THC benefit your heart in reducing arterial plaques, as well as inhibiting tumor cell growth, reducing pain, helping with insomnia, and preventing seizures. The Lemon Kush hybrid has high levels of the monoterpene (an organic compound that gives distinctive fragrance and flavor to cannabis plants) D-limonene (naturally found in citrus fruits), which gives it its distinctive lemony odor and taste. D-limonene has been found to have potent anti-inflammatory and cancer-fighting properties!

You might confuse Lemon Haze Kush and Lemon Haze ganja varieties with Lemon Kush, but you have to understand that there are important differences between ‘Kushes’ and ‘Hazes’: Kushes are indica dominant, whereas Hazes tend to be Sativa dominant – Lemon Kush marijuana is NEITHER because it is a 50/50 hybrid. Kushes originated with Afhgani hash strains and Hazes rose to prominence in Northern California. Physically, Kush cannabis plants have broader leaves and are shorter, stouter; Hazes are often taller with thin leaves. Haze nugs or buds are light green with lots of bright hairs, or trichomes, covering the outside of the flower, but Kush varieties are brightly colored, with dark greens and rich purples. The fragrances of the two vastly different types of weed are also quite distinct, Hazes tend to have spicy or citrusy smells with lightly earthy overtones, and Kushes are more pungently earthy.

For comparison Gorilla Glue 4, Trainwreck, and Sunset Sherbet, being well-balanced hybrids, are similar strains to Lemon Kush.

Buying:

To purchase Lemon Kush weed at a brick-and-mortar dispensary would run you an average of $35-50 per eighth for leaf, depending upon legality (is it medical or recreational), quality of the grow or crop, availability, time of year and location (some dispensaries are required to levy a local or state tax on purchases). Online prices tend to be a bit steeper and you may need to factor in shipping costs. Concentrates run around $30 for a half gram and $50 or more for a full gram. And vaporizer cartridges are in the $30-40 range for 300 to 500mgs. Lemon Kush is available at various locations in wax or CO2 oil forms.
